adsorption dryer achieves drying effect through "pressure change" (principle of pressure swing adsorption). because the capacity of air to hold water vapor is inversely proportional to the pressure, a part of the air after drying (called regenerated gas) is decompressed and expanded to the atmospheric pressure. this pressure change makes the expanded air drier, and then it flows through the regenerated drying agent layer (i.e. the drying tower that has absorbed enough water vapor) without connecting the air flow. the regeneration gas absorbs the water in the desiccant and takes it out of the desiccant to achieve the purpose of dehumidification. the two towers work in a cycle without heat source and continuously supply dry compressed air to the user's gas system.
the sorbent dryer is classified by sorbent regeneration method, which can be divided into two types: non-thermal regeneration micro-thermal regeneration dryer and thermal regeneration micro-thermal regeneration dryer. because the non-thermal micro-heat regeneration dryer works according to isothermal adsorption, also known as "pressure swing adsorption" and "temperature swing adsorption" with thermal micro-heat regeneration dryer works according to isobaric adsorption, also known as "temperature swing adsorption". in practical use, there is also a kind of micro-thermal dryer. in form, the micro-thermal regenerative dryer also warms up the regenerative gas. but because the regenerative gas it uses comes from the dry air with very low water content, it is also a "pressure swing adsorption" dryer.
